Local Law Enforcement
Around 50 automobiles have been smeared with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the German municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm law enforcement.
Automobiles, exterior walls and mailboxes were vandalized, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they announced in a statement.
Police state they were alerted during the night on Wednesday evening, when a resident noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been marked with a reddish-hued substance.
The fluid had been drawn in the shape of a banned symbol, they reported.
Officers then located numerous other smeared automobiles and house walls in the surrounding area.
These symbols are illegal in Germany under regulations banning the public exhibition of symbols from the Nazi era.
Law enforcement report initial examinations suggest the fluid was most likely human bodily fluid.
"There is still no indication as to its origin; investigators are currently not cognizant of any physical harm in connection with the event," they commented.
City officials stated they were trying "to resolve the incident" and have asked to the public for tips.
An important political figure commented the vandalism rendered him stunned and needed to be addressed rapidly.
"This event affects the core of Hanau and reawakens the wounds of the extremist attack five years ago," he wrote on social media, mentioning the death of nine victims by a gunman aiming at residents of immigrant origin in 2020.
