Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round fight which will be broadcast live on Netflix.
Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the two fighters met personally to publicize next month's heavyweight fight.
Former two-time unified heavyweight champion Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Boxer's Attitude
"I'm going to damage his features and damage his physique. My goal is to show I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, declared.
"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I intend to seriously aim to cause him pain. That's my goal."
Civil Interaction
Despite those words, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Paul - usually recognized for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and remained civil with each other.
Paul rather criticized former Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "not serious" after the Cameroonian rejected a bout proposal.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Joshua, at the same time, targeted British rival Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a victory for Paul.
"Jake Paul is superior to Fury - he's actually sitting here," the boxer commented.
"I acknowledge that."
Legitimate Fighter
Despite stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he remarked.
Jake Paul's History
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.
He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
However, the inexperienced fighter is still one of the sport's biggest money-making draws, consistently making substantial earnings.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28-year-old predicted a knockout win in round four or five and claimed he would stop the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently in the works for two years from now.
"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.
Physical Difference
As the two fighters engaged in the traditional stare-down, with their size difference clearly visible, it drove home just how improbable this complete situation is - and how astonishing it is that the bout is really going ahead.
